Who needs to comply with the legislation?

Emplyoyers whose staff;

  • use display screen equipment for continuous or near continuous spells of an hour or more
  • use display screen equipment this way more or less daily
  • have to transfer information quickly to or from display screen equipment

These criteria apply to full or part time workers, agency workers and self employed people working in an employer’s environment.

The employer also has a responsibility to ensure that home workers also comply with DSE legislation.

People who work from home are still at risk from MSDs as much as office based staff, FPOS work with people in their homes as well as in the office.

We are happy to work with individuals who are either employed by their company and are working at home, or private individuals who wish to protect themselves from undue strain or physical injury while working with DSE.
